8, female

Adumonke is a very energetic and hard-working girl and always strives to do her best. She lives in Witsand with her mother, who works as a labourer at a local horticultural farm.






Robin Farmer
9, female

Robin is a cheerful child, always willing to help and has made great progress in her school work this year. She lives in Atlantis with her mother, who is a domestic worker relying on a series of casual jobs to support the family.






Sakhe Mabe
8, male

Sakhe has proven to be a very responsible young boy both academically and extramurally. He lives with both his parents in Witsand. His mother is unemployed and his father is an active community leader, who works at a local factory as a semi-skilled labourer.






Zuzeka Mangele
5, female

Zuzeka is a lovely girl who lives in Witsand and her mother works as a domestic worker at a local farm. Zuzeka is very eager to learn and we hope she stays at the school for the rest of her primary education.






Amahle Marobobo
8, male

Amahle lives with his mother in Witsand. He participates very actively in class and does his work carefully. His mother works to support the family in a local factory and shows a lot of interest in her child's school career.






Sipathise Mbodlela
9, male

Sipathise is a quiet boy, who joined the school in Class 2 with only a little English, but has worked hard to catch up and integrate with his classroom friends. He lives with his parents and three siblings in a brick house in Witsand and his mother supports the whole family on her salary as a domestic worker. She takes a great interest in the school.






Yolanda Mkuba
10, female

Yolanda is a lovely girl, always happy and with a lively approach to life. She lives with both her parents, her father supporting the family with his job at a local factory and her mother is currently unemployed.






Noluthando Mqakelana
6, female

Noluthando is a healthy Xhosa-speaking little girl from a previously disadvantaged family, who entered Class 1 in January of this year. She is always punctual and very neatly dressed. Noluthando works hard and tries to do her best at all times. She is very independent and able to assert herself id need be. Teaching her is a pleasure and she is co-operative, friendly and very eager to learn.






Athembela Mzondi
7, male

Athembela is clever boy who has a sister at the school. His father lost his job recently when his company got liquidated. He has been struggling to feed, dress and educate his children. Athembela started at the school in Kindergarten and he has settled well and we would love to see him go all the way at our school.






Andisiwe Senatse
7, female

Andisiwe is a friendly Xhosa-speaking little girl from a previously disadvantaged family who entered Class 1 in January this year. She is hard-working and always tries to do her best. Andisiwe is bright and very interested in learning new things. Teaching her is a pleasure. Her mother works at the local flower nursery as a day worker at a very poor wage.






Asiphe Senatse
11, female

Asiphe lives in Witsand, an informal settlement a short walk from the school. Her mother works at the local flower nursery as a day worker at a very poor wage. Asiphe is creative and hardworking and makes the most of her time at school.






Azola Senatse
8, male

Azola is a very bright and active child and does his class work with great care. He lives with his mother and older sister in a brick house in Witsand and his mother supports the family with her job as a farm labourer.






Abulele Shweni
11, male

Abulele is very gifted artistically and is an outspoken child. He lives with his mother in Witsand and she works on a local farm.






Joel Tsepo
8, male

Tsepo is a bright young boy, who does his school work wholeheartedly. He lives with his mother and two siblings in a brick house in Witsand. His mother is a devoted churchgoer and supports the family working as a labourer on a nearby farm.






Juliano van Schalkwyk

Juliano is very interested in his school work. His young mother works at a local farm as a general labourer. They both live with other members of their extended family in Witsand.
